Music Network Staff Profiles

 

Deirdre McCrea, CEO

Chief Executive, Deirdre McCrea, is responsible for overall management of Music Network, including artistic direction, and policy and programme development. She also represents the organisation publicly at key events and in the media.

Deirdre devotes much of her time to planning, to developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and to advocacy on policy areas such as music education and music in healthcare. She is also closely involved in developing and overseeing the implementation of fundraising strategies. Deirdre is responsible for Human Resource Management.

Deirdre holds BMus and MA degrees in music from Queen’s University, Belfast and a Higher Diploma in Arts Administration from UCD. She was appointed as Music Network's Regional Development Officer 1996, and Education and Healthcare Manager in 1999, before becoming CEO in March 2003.

Sharon Rollston, Performance Programme Manager

Sharon Rollston is the Performance Programmes Manager, responsible for the activities of the touring, once-off and international concert programmes. Sharon also manages special projects, workshop activity and artist liaison along with building and maintaining relationships with cultural organisations and other stakeholders.

Andreas Ziemons, Performance Programme Administrator

The Performance Programmes Administrator assists in the preparation of the Touring Programme seasons to Music Network partner promoters.

Working closely with the Performance Programmes Manager the Performance Programme Administrator liaises with artists/agents and promoters/venues on various operational issues from travel arrangements and touring programmes to instrument hire and technical requirements for a given tour or concert.

Co-ordinating with the PR department the Performance Programme Administrator prepares the printed concert programmes, gathering all concert-related information and recording and assisting with the analysis of key statistical information relating to Music Network's performance programmes.

The Performance Programme Administrator is responsible for creating, developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and service providers relevant to the performance programmes and is also involved in the planning and co-ordination of the annual Young Musicwide Award recruitment process.

Aisling Roche, Development Programmes Manager

Aisling's role within Music Network is to assist local partner promoters in developing their general music programming, and to plan, deliver and evaluate audience development initiatives linked to concerts. She also has responsibility for facilitating networking, joint planning, and co-operation among local music promoters. She works closely with personnel from other Irish music production and touring organisations to ensure a co-ordinated approach to promoter and audience development.

Louise Walsh, PR and Marketing Manager

Louise is responsible for developing and implementating Music Network's communications strategy. This includes managing national media relations; managing the preparation and distribution of local press packs to partner promoters, and scheduling and overseeing the preparation of print materials for the entire range of the organisation's activities. Louise also manages the marketing of all programmes and activities; works to develop the organisation's brand and profile, and has a key role in servicing Music Network's sponsors, and maintains the company website and online communications strategy.

Helen Grant, Finance Manager

Helen Grant as Finance Officer is responsible for developing, maintaining effective accounting/budgeting procedures and producing management accounts/reports.

Helen, whom is CPA qualified has over ten years experience in Finance. Prior to joining Music Network in Jan 2006, Helen worked with various different Companies, from service to manufacturing and from medium to large multinational corporations.

Helen acts as company secretary.

Maeve Murphy, PR Assistant and Administrator

The PR & Marketing Assistant and Administrator at Music Network runs the Dublin Castle Concert Series Box Office, manages the Friends of Music Network scheme and serves as first point of contact for the public. In conjunction with the PR and Marketing Manager, the PR & Marketing Assistant and Administrator works on press releases, advertising materials and programmes for both the touring and Music Wide programmes.

 

National Music Education Programme Staff Profiles

 

Rosaleen Molloy, Director

A former student of Wexford School of Music and graduate of the music and education Departments of University College Cork, Rosaleen Molloy has over fifteen years experience working in the field of music education in Ireland.

Positions held include Project Director of Arts in the Classroom Initiative, Founder / Director of The County Wexford Children’s Choir Programme and County Arts Officer, Wexford County Council.

A skilled choral music education specialist, Rosaleen studied conducting at the Choral Music Experience Institute USA from 1996 – 2002 and has pioneered many groundbreaking initiatives in music education.
