Han-earl Park awarded €2,000 towards an experimental music event involving two machine musicians io 0.0.1 beta++ and iWife (I Will Improve For Everyone), created by Han-earl Park and John Godfrey respectively at Cork’s Blackrock Castle Observatory. The concert will also feature Bruce Coates (saxophones); Franziska Schroeder (saxophones) and Frances Heery (sound diffusion).
Tara-Lee Angell €3,352.42
Tara-Lee Angell awarded €3,352.42 towards a 3-date tour titled ‘Music until the end of time’. Featuring the Gwendolyn Masin (violin); Tara-Lee Angell (cello); Jovanni-Rey V. de Pedro (piano) and Sergio Neves (clarinet). The tour will visit Tinahely, Co. Wickow; Selskar, Co. Wexford and the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin. The programme will feature Messiaen Quatour pour la fin du temps and Raymond Deane Ice Flowers.

Sharon Carty awarded €5,871.75 towards the ‘Earley Musick Ensemble – Stabat Mater Tour’, featuring Sharon Carty (mezzo soprano); Desmond Earley (harpsichord); Anita Vedres (violin); Aoife Durnin (violin); Carla Vedres (viola); and Malachy Robinson (violone). The tour will visit Celbridge, Co. Kildare; Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and St. Bartholomew’s Church, Clyde Road, Dublin. The programme will include O Solitude (Purcell); Ach, dass ich Wassers g’nug hatte (J.Ch. Bach); Harpsichord Concerto BMW 1054 (J.S. Bach); Trio Sonata (G. Le Roux) and Stabat Mater (Vivaldi).

Phil Bergan awarded €7,436 towards a tour of the ‘Oleku Band’ and their world music tour of Ireland with Allen Taylor Adeniyi (Sax/Organ/Vocals) Segun Akano (Keyboard/Vocals) Otolorin Olalaleye (Trumpet/Percussion/Vocals) Tomi Agbenla (Vocals/Shakers) Michael Akano (Bass Guitar) and Felix Oludare (Drum Kit). The tour will take place between May and July 2010.
Fionnuala Moynihan €3,500
Fionnuala Moynihan awarded €3,500 towards a series of 5 solo piano concerts at the Hugh Lane Gallery between January and May 2010. The programme will be the complete Piano Sonatas of Mozart.
Katherine Hunka €5,758
Katherine Hunka (violin) and Dermot Dunne (accordion) awarded €5,758 towards a 6 date tour visiting New Ross, Dingle, Killarney, Wicklow, Tinahely and Waterford. The Programme will include: 6 Romanian Dances (Bartok); Sonata Representativa (Biber); Italian Suite (Stravinsky); Sonata Concertata (Paganini); Suite of Spanish Folksongs (De Falla); and Three Tangos (Piazzolla).
Vourneen Ryan €7,310.83
Vourneen Ryan (flute) awarded €7,310.83 towards a concert featuring Louth Voices & 2 Boy Singers conducted by Tonu Kaljuste performing the Irish Premiere of Rodion Shchedrin’ s The Sealed Angel. The performance will take place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dundalk. Co. Louth and will be promoted by the Louth Contemporary Music Society in February 2010.
