Newcastle CCE hosts the annual Fleadh Amhrán agus Rince. As the title suggests, the emphasis here is on traditional singing and dancing. Over the years,
this Ulster-based festival has attracted many of the connoisseurs of traditional singing and dancing. Over the weekend the main attractions are the competitions in traditional singing, dancing and Irish language. The organising committee also arranges workshops in various instruments with some of the best tutors to be had and there are also plenty of informal sessions in the pubs.
