Music Network today unveiled its Autumn Season 2014 with an exceptional line-up of talented Irish and international musicians that will tour to nineteen towns and villages across fifteen counties from 16/9/14 to 29/11/14. The eclectic programme features a range of genres and styles including a Scottish and Irish traditional music tour; a solo fiddle and film show by one of Ireland's most adventurous and prolific musicians; an Appalachian roots band direct from the Virginian mountains; a very personal programme from one of the world's rising cello stars and a very special commissioned tour for children and families.

Be swept away by rising chamber music stars the Attacca Quartet, described by the New York Times as “sensational”, and tipped as worthy successors to the ground-breaking Kronos Quartet. On tour from 27 February to 5 March, they will perform an exquisite programme inspired by words, framing works by John Adams, Beethoven and Janá?ek with readings by poets, playwrights and composers to illuminate the narrative behind the music.

Music Network today (5 November) announced the results of the Arts Council Music Recording Scheme 2013. The Arts Council Music Recording Scheme is funded by the Arts Council and managed by Music Network. To date, 76 recordings have been funded, across a range of genres, from some of Ireland’s most talented musicians, to a value of €572,000.
