The Music Network Learning and Participation Programme offers bespoke educational opportunities in the form of workshops, artist talks, masterclasses, demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions.
The Music Network Learning and Participation Programme offers bespoke educational opportunities in the form of workshops, talks, masterclasses, demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions providing local musicians and music students with an opportunity to work with Irish and international touring musicians.
Activities take place both in the context of our national touring programme, and as stand-alone projects. In consultation with our Partner Promotors we identify key local music groups and organisations while prioritising Music Generation Music Education Partnerships. By subsidising the cost of the activities where possible, Music Network aims to make such learning opportunities more accessible and facilitate participants’ attendance at the related concert.
As well as offering new educational opportunities to local musicians, the Learning and Participation Programme aims to establish and develop relationships between groups of musicians and their local venue. Where possible, educational activities may take place at the venue, and in some cases, the Partner Promoter can offer reduced-price concert tickets to participants. By building such relationships, the Learning and Participant Programme contributes to Audience Development, as laid out in the Music Network Strategic Plan 2014- 2017.
If you are interested in setting up an activity for your school/music group/music school/orchestra, please contact Sarah Cunningham, Programmes Administrator: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01 475 0224.
