This October, experience the consummate musicianship of the multi-award winning Amatis Piano Trio, widely acclaimed for their intensity, passion and beautifully-nuanced performances. Lea Hausmann (violin), Samuel Shepherd (cello) and Mengjie Han (piano) will perform trios by Haydn, Schumann, Mendelssohn and a new work by Irish composer Amanda Feery (commissioned by Music Network) from 8 – 17 October 2018, details at musicnetwork.ie.

Music Network’s Autumn 2018 season gets off to a flying start as two of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians – button accordionist Máirtín O’Connor and guitarist Séamie O’Dowd – accompany the living songbook and national treasure that is vocalist Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill. Spring 2018 began in epic form with a gathering of titans from trad super-groups led by Arcady's Niamh Parsons; award-winning saxophonist and composer Trish Clowes showcased music from her latest ensemble project; two world premieres of pieces by composers Siobhán Cleary and Benjamin Dwyer were performed; and four musicians at the top of their game brought Spring 2018 to an exuberant closer, rounding off 44 concerts in 19 towns and villages across 14 counties.

Vocalists Heidi Talbot and Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, aided and abetted by award winning multi-instrumentalist John McCusker and guitarist Paul Meehan, brought the season to a suitably high-spirited close on a tour presented in partnership with the Baltimore Fiddle Fair. They performed in Dublin, Listowel, Cork, Tinahely, Baltimore, Clifden, Sligo, Newbridge, Letterkenny, Dún Laoghaire and Wexford.
