Over 350 people throughout the country attended the recent National Music Education Programme Information Seminars, held in Kilkenny, Sligo, Limerick and Dublin. The seminars provided details about the upcoming programme, with the first round of applications expected to be announced in January 2011.

In July 2009, a fund of €7million for Ireland’s new National Music Education Programme was announced, made possible through a major philanthropic donation from U2 and gifts from The Ireland Funds. The structural basis for this Programme will be Music Network’s Music Education Partnership model, which has been successfully piloted in Donegal and Dublin to date.
