Spring 2018 Highlights

Spring 2018 began in epic form with a gathering of titans from trad super-groups led by Arcady's Niamh Parsons; award-winning saxophonist and composer Trish Clowes showcased music from her latest ensemble project; two world premieres of pieces by composers Siobhán Cleary and Benjamin Dwyer were performed; and four musicians at the top of their game brought Spring 2018 to an exuberant closer, rounding off 44 concerts in 19 towns and villages across 14 counties.

Vocalists Heidi Talbot and Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, aided and abetted by award winning multi-instrumentalist John McCusker and guitarist Paul Meehan, brought the season to a suitably high-spirited close on a tour presented in partnership with the Baltimore Fiddle Fair. They performed in Dublin, Listowel, Cork, Tinahely, Baltimore, Clifden, Sligo, Newbridge, Letterkenny, Dún Laoghaire and Wexford.

€224,000 awarded through Music Capital Scheme

Music Network today announced the results of the Music Capital Scheme 2017/18. A total of €224,000 in funding from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has been awarded to 31 performing groups and 17 individual musicians.
