Listen at Bello Bar

06 November 2015

Music Network is delighted to be involved with Listen at Bello Bar, a monthly night of creative music and spoken word at The Bello Bar, Dublin 8. Enjoy a showcase of some of Ireland's finest musicians and artists at the next event on Thursday 19 November at 7pm. On the bill are four very different musical acts:

Rebecca Collins is an Irish singer-songwriter and musician whose most recent releases include the solo acoustic album Earth and the alternative rock album Solar, both released last year. Her music has been described by critics as "timeless", "courageous", "innovative" and "dramatically uncompromising".

Donal McCague (fiddle) and Tommy Fitzharris (flute/concertina) first met at the Ennis Trad Fest in 2012. Donal won the TG4 Gradam Ceoil Young Musician of the Year Award in 2013, while Tommy has won numerous All-Ireland titles on both concertina and flute.

THE DELIGHT OF BEING MISUNDERSTOOD is a spoken word piece conceived and performed by Massimo Davi and Monica Miuccio. It combines pre-recorded audio material, live instruments and live electronics.

Sankhara is a newly formed duo featuring Izumi Kimura on piano and Joe O' Callaghan on acoustic guitar, playing new music written by Joe. With influences from contemporary classical to jazz and rock music, this duo are an exciting addition to the Irish creative music scene.

The final Listen At Bello Bar concert of 2015 takes place on Thursday 17 December:

Albiez Trio is Laoise Kelly (harp), Tola Custy (fiddle) and Cormac Breatnach (whistles). They have been playing together since the CeltiCimes music festival, Albiez in the Alps, in July 2014. As a trio with varied backgrounds, their music has many influences from many regions. Cormac’s music is highly influenced by jazz and blues and his playing can be heard on more than 50 albums with various artists, including Sonny Condell, Andy Irvine, Peirce Turner, and Brendan Power. Laoise Kelly is regarded by many as the most significant harper of her generation and has recorded with many of Ireland’s foremost artists including The Chieftains, Sharon Shannon and Dónal Lunny. Tola Custy is one of the busiest artists, composers, and recording musicians on the Irish music scene.
