ThIona Connection Intergenerational Workshops
Music Network, Age & Opportunity and Music Generation present The Iona Connection intergenerational ‘Musical Exchange’ workshops
Music Network is delighted to be partnering with local Music Education Partnerships and Age and Opportunity in linking our work in music performance with music education, with the aim of giving children, young people  and older people rich, holistic musical experiences.  
The following workshops will take place during our final tour of the season with musicians Alasdair Fraser (fiddle), Natalie Haas (cello) and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (fiddle/voice).  Tour details here.
Wednesday May 14
Music Generation Mayo in collaboration with Music Network and Age & Opportunity are offering workshop for young (8 to 18 years) and older (adult) musicians with an interest in traditional/folk music to book in pairs for a ‘musical sharing’ of tunes, stories and experiences between the generations and between amateur & professional musicians, as part of the Bealtaine festival programme in Mayo.
  
Venue: The Linenhall Arts Centre | May 14 | 4.30pm-6pm
Cost: Free of charge but booking essential as numbers for this event are limited
 
Iona Connection Performance: The Linenhall Arts Centre | May 14 | 8pm
Pairs attending the workshop can avail of a special combined concert ticket for €20 (admits 1 adult & 1 young person (8-18 years))

Friday May 16
Music Generation Sligo in collaboration with Music Network and Age & Opportunity are offering a free Intergenerational Workshop with musicians Alasdair Fraser (fiddle), Natalie Haas (cello) and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (fiddle/voice) who will perform in the Hawks Well that evening.
Young and older musicians are invited to book in pairs for this musical sharing between the generations and between amateur & professional musicians, as part of Bealtaine Festival Sligo.
Workshop 4-5.30pm (meet at Hawks Well) Concert 8pm
Young Person (age 8 -18) & Adult – both must sing or play fiddle/violin/cello

Donegal Music Education Partnership in collaboration with Music Network and Age & Opportunity have organised two workshops on Saturday 17 May.
Natalie Haas and Alasdair Fraser will work with the Donegal Chamber Orchestra and friends while Maireád O Mhaonaigh will be working with the choir from Gael Scoil Letterkenny.
We wish all of the workshop participants and the musicians an enjoyable experience and look forward to hearing all about them!
