Workshops with Community Groups

Workshops with Community Groups
Our community music activities are designed to ignite that spark that only comes when people connect deeply with music.

Communities need music. It brings people together, celebrates differences and contributes to a vibrant, inclusive society. There are many thriving community music groups around the country, and we aim to enhance their work though our programme of workshops with community groups led by our touring musicians. Recent collaborations have included Bangers & Crash Percussion Group workshops with the West Cork Gamelan Ensemble and traditional music workshops with Music Generation Wicklow's Rithim Orchestra led by fiddler Dónal O'Connor and concertina player Jack Talty. We are also working with local county council arts offices to bring teaching and learning residencies to communities around Ireland, including Making Music With Sonamus: the Wicklow Teaching Residency.
