November 2018: Tre Voci

04 December 2018

In advance of the Tre Voci performance at the National Opera House in Wexford, there was an opportunity to look into the background of the concert works in a session hosted by Dr Eamon Sweeney: John Cage’s setting of James Joyce’s text; links between medieval Florence, 20th century Russia and Greek mourning music in the works by Taverner; the spiritual songs taken from the handwritten personal music notebook of Anna Magdalena, the wife of J.S. Bach.

“As a school of music we aim to exceed expectations and for our students to exceed their own. The support from Music Network helps us deliver on this in providing once in a lifetime opportunities that inspire and improve students standards.” David Creevy, Principal, County Wexford School of Music
