Scoil Acla is a voluntary organisation which provides expert tuition in traditional music, dance, song and language. The school attracts the best tutors and artists to pass on their expertise to its local classes and Summer School participants in order to promote, encourage and nurture a love of the traditional arts and Achill's and Ireland's unique culture. Music tuition is provided by a combination of local, national and international music tutors. The high standard of tuition and expertise provided by the tutors ensures that its Summer School is considered one of the best in the country.
