Music Generation Mayo provides a variety of music programmes for children and young people around the county. Professional musicians facilitate learning on a wide range of instruments, voice and music technology across all styles of music.

Music Generation Mayo is part of Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme which transforms the lives of children and young people through access to high-quality, subsidised performance music education.

Mayo County Library now operates three musical instrument lending banks in the county, based in Castlebar, Ballina and Belmullet. These instrument banks were established in conjunction with Music Generation Mayo as a result of a plan formulated by the Arts Section of Mayo County Council.
