Founded in 1990, Sligo Baroque Orchestra (SBO) performs mainly music from the Baroque repertoire, with regular rehearsals and ten or twelve performances each year. Members include professional, student and amateur musicians, with Nicola Cleary as Leader. The orchestra does not exclusively perform on period instruments, and SBO also organises monthly Informal Music Afternoons where music from different genres is programmed.

The orchestra owns baroque flutes, a baroque oboe, baroque bows for violins, viola and cello and a harpsichord.
