The Historical Harp Society of Ireland exists to spearhead the rediscovery of the history, traditions, playing techniques, repertory and building of the early Irish harp – the kind of instrument depicted in Ireland’s national emblem – both in Ireland and internationally. The Society offers term-time tuition, one-off Discovery Days, and a summer festival.
The Society focuses on early Irish harps (strung in brass wires) and does not have any modern Irish harps (strung in nylon) available.
