Music Network is delighted to announce that soprano Aisling Kenny has been awarded the Music Network/Centre Culturel Irlandais Music Performance Bursary 2017/18.
The Music Network/ Centre Culturel Irlandais Music Performance Bursary was established to enable residencies for Irish musicians at the centre in Paris to further their performance careers, as well as being an important means of showcasing Ireland’s dynamic contemporary culture on an international stage.
The two-month residency offers great opportunities to tap into the resources of the CCI and Paris, as a gateway to European touring networks. Former recipients of the music residency in association with Music Network are Sam Comerford (2017-18), Barry Donoghue (2016-17 and Rhob Cunningham (2015-16).
Nora Hickey M’Sichili, director of Centre Culturel Irlandais, today announced the recipients of residencies and bursaries for the Centre’s 2018-2019 programme. 27 artists across the spectrum of artistic backgrounds will spend from one month to three months in Paris to develop their proposed projects.
Music Network’s mission is to make high quality live music available and accessible to people throughout Ireland, regardless of their location or circumstance. Central to Music Network’s mission is supporting the performance careers of professional musicians. This is accomplished through providing national and international concert opportunities, initiating audience development programmes with and through local partner promoters, establishing linkage projects with our subsidiary company Music Generation and local music education organisations, direct funding schemes and information services.
