Dave Flynn dlr Musician-in-Residence: Week 1
Composer/guitarist Dave Flynn was announced last week as the first of three dlr Musicians-in-Residence for 2020 in a scheme jointly funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Arts Council and managed by Music Network.

During the course of his Residency Dave Flynn will collaborate with musicians from the Guitar Training Centre in Dún Laoghaire and their tutor Ciaran Swift, to compose and perform an exciting new composition for guitar ensemble, Dún Laoghaire Guitars. All of the collaborative and performance elements will take place online. Over the three-month Residency audiences will be able to follow weekly video updates, insights, performances and interviews from Dave and his collaborators.

Dave's weekly video update will give insight into his progress on the new guitar ensemble piece he's working on, thoughts and ideas around composing and guitar playing more generally, and a weekly play list.
Dave's Guitar Heroes Part 1: Childhood Heroes

Dave Flynn's Residency will culminate on Thursday 30 July at 7pm with the online premiere of the new work Dún Laoghaire Guitars created during the Residency.
