Music Network presents violist Jennifer Stumm An Imperfect Instrument Tour
Music Network presents acclaimed violist Jennifer Stumm's nationwide tour from 29 March – 6 April with performances in Bray, Dublin, Roscommon, Clifden, Listowel and Waterford.

Stumm, Professor of Viola at Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and International Chair of the Royal College of Music in London, will perform her show An Imperfect Instrument across her six Irish dates. Her TEDx talk of the same name went viral and led to a solo debut at the Berlin Philharmonie. In a new version specially curated for Irish audiences, Stumm will tell, through a mixture of music and words, how imperfection can be the very thing that gives us our voice.

Known for the seductive power and "opal-like beauty" (Washington Post) of her sound, Jennifer Stumm has appeared on many of the world's great stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Centre, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, São Paulo's Sala and the Wigmore Hall, London. Her solo career was launched after victories in three major international competitions: William Primrose, Geneva and Concert Artists Guild, where she was the first violist ever to win First Prize, and swiftly earned a reputation as one of the world's most outspoken voices for the expressive possibilities of her instrument.

As part of Music Network's commitment to making live music accessible to people of all ages throughout Ireland, Stumm will lead a series of music workshops for viola players in school and community settings throughout this tour. Complementing this, Irish-based musicians Ingrid Nicola, Diane Daly and Anita Vedres will deliver additional workshops for secondary school students. The workshops will focus on the history of the viola and illuminate aspects of the music that students will hear when they attend the concert.
