Tomar Trust receive a Business to Arts Awards in recognition of their support for Music Network's Musician-in-Residence programme
Huge congratulations to Tomar Trust, winners of the Community Foundation Ireland Arts Philanthropy Award at this year’s Business to Arts Awards, recognised for their support of our Musician-in-Residence programme in partnership with St. John’s Theatre & Arts Centre, Listowel - our first ever residency specifically for a professional musician who is autistic/person with autism.

This opportunity recognises that many such musicians face barriers toward career progression that others may not. The main purpose of the residency was to provide time and space for a musician to develop their practice intensively.

Patrick stefan was appointed as our first resident musician in 2024, supported with an €8,000 bursary and space and time to create new work. During the residency he also engaged with the local community through inclusive music activities alongside a facilitator and performed new music developed during his time at St. John's in a special concert.

A massive thank you to Ronan Cavanagh and Maeve O’Shaughnessy of Tomar Trust for their vision and support for this programme, which returns later this year at Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Mhúirne, Cork.
