Inspired by the spirit of Cruinniú na nÓg, which aims to unlock the creative potential of all children and young people, we created Musical Me! an inclusive music project which gave students with moderate to severe learning disabilities the opportunity to experience live music up close, and to express themselves through movement.
Over the course of several weeks, professional musicians Malachy Robinson (double bass/cello), Dermot Dunne (accordion/handpan), and inclusive dance artist Jess Rowell worked directly with students and staff at St Michael's House.
Together, they created a joyful space for exploration, creativity, and connection—all within the familiar setting of the classroom.
The result is Musical Me! this beautiful short film that offers a glimpse into the students’ journey and the transformative power of music and the arts.
