Our subsidiary company Music Generation gives children and young people access to high quality performance music education in their locality.
Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme and gives children and young people access to high quality performance music education in their locality. Music Network began advocating for better music education provision in Ireland in 2003, and established Music Generation as a subsidiary company in 2010 with a €7 million donation from U2 and The Ireland Funds. Co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships, Music Generation believes that it is every child and young person’s right to have access to music tuition and the chance to participate as a musical citizen, and that music doesn’t just change lives, it transforms lives.
